Amoudi beach is a wonderful sandy beach 7.6 kilometers east of the resort Plakias and 10 minutes walk from the beach Damnoni quite sheltered from the winds.

Ammoudaki Beach

Preveli Palm Beach & Monastery

The area of “Lake Preveli” is located on the south side of the island of Crete and only a few kilometers eastern of Plakias area. The amazing scenery starts from the imposing gorge Kourtaliotiko where there are the water sources of St. Nicholas, which supply it with water throughout the year.

Churches and monasteries, stone bridges and mills witness the historical and cultural context of this place. It is located near Preveli Monastery and for visiting the beach is required a few minutes of downhill the mountain.
This is where the Great River empties and on its banks palm tress dominate.

Damnoni Beach

Another organized sandy beach is just a short drive from Plakias. It is recommended for good swimmers, as the sea deepens rapidly.

Souda Beach

Here ends the esplanade of Plakias. It combines sand and pebbles, known for its crystal clear waters and perfect for days of strong wind, since this area is protected from the wind.

The Souda beach is located 33 km southwest of Rethymno. The Souda beach is a long beach with sand and pebbles, crystal clear waters, which has been awarded in 2012 with the Blue Flag.
